League City police investigate murder of woman and suicide attempt of her husband at home on Crescent Bay Drive

LEAGUE CITY, Texas (KTRK) – According to League City police, a 62-year-old man is in custody for the murder of his wife after attempting to end his life.

On Tuesday, around 10:30 a.m., the Galveston County Sheriff's Office requested assistance from League City police in evicting Charles McCoy and his 62-year-old wife, Susan McCoy, from their home in the 100 block of Crescent Bay Drive.

After officers met the responding officer, they attempted to make contact at the front door, but no one answered, police said.

When officers entered the house, they found Susan McCoy lying dead on the master bedroom floor.

Charles McCoy was also found lying on the bedroom floor. He had apparently inflicted injuries on himself but was still alive. Emergency responders began treating his injuries until he was taken to the hospital.

After a thorough investigation, the Galveston County District Attorney's Office filed murder charges against Charles McCoy and took him into custody.

His bail was set at $150,000.
