15:57: Police and firefighters respond to a reported shooting in the 4600 block of 36th SW [vicinity map]. The victim is reported to be a man with multiple gunshot wounds. The person who shot him is described as a black male, late 20s to early 30s, dressed all in black, with a white face mask, last seen running toward SW Snoqualmie. The victim is reported to be in the cafeteria across from the YMCA, although we do not yet know if he was shot there. Updates to follow.

16:06: The victim should be in his (updated) In his thirties and conscious. SFD paramedics are treating him.

16:14: He is taken to Harborview Medical Center. Doctors say he was shot four times. The shooter's description has been updated to include “thin, tall, black hoodie and jeans, blue surgical mask.”

16:25: Our team has confirmed that the shooting occurred at the Distinguished Foods building, which houses several small grocery stores. We do not know whether or not the victim is associated with any of these businesses. In the meantime, readers have pointed out that the West Seattle YMCA across the street has been placed on lockdown as a precaution.
