Nick Cannon jokes that “The Masked Singer” will already have a dozen seasons: “Has just as many kids!”

Even Nick Cannon can't help but make fun of his large brood.

Speaking exclusively to Page Six at the Fox Fall Press Day in Los Angeles earlier this month, the TV host compared being in the 12th season of “The Masked Singer” to being a father of 12 children.

“[Twelve seasons]right? It's a dozen,” began Cannon, a judge on the hit reality singing competition series. “Have the same number of kids!”

Cannon, 43, has 13-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with his ex-wife Mariah Carey.

He is also father to Golden, 7, Powerful Queen, 3, and Rise, 1, with Brittany Bell; 3-year-old twins Zion and Zillion and Beautiful, 1, with Abby De La Rosa; Legendary, 2, with Bre Tiesi; Onyx, 2, with LaNisha Cole; and Halo, 1, with Alyssa Scott.

The “Wild 'n Out” star and Scott were also parents to son Zen, who tragically died of a brain tumor in 2021 at just five months old.

During his extensive interview with Page Six, Cannon spoke at one point about what it was like raising his now teenage children alongside Carey. Moroccan and Monroe, his eldest son and daughter, turned 13 on April 30.

“It's the scariest thing in the world. My daughter wears makeup now,” he said of Monroe. “Luckily she doesn't wear it often, but it scared me. We were getting ready, we were in Malibu and we were about to go to dinner, and I just thought, 'What's taking her so long?'”

“I walk into her room and it literally looks like there's just hair and makeup, just stuff,” he continued. “I was like, 'Wow, you're just like your mom.' It's beautiful to look at, but scary at the same time.”

Cannon also talked to us about how his “genius” son Golden, whom he has with Bell, is adjusting to starting fourth grade at just seven years old.

“It's so crazy… he's so far ahead academically, but he's also an athlete. That can actually hinder you when you're smaller than everyone else,” he said. “He's so great at basketball and he's actually in the big leagues, but if he were playing against kids his age, he would be really dominant.”

He added: “I will continue to encourage him in his academic achievements, but I also know how much he loves sports. So we will see. He will make the right decision. He is a genius!”

As for the brand new season of The Masked Singer, Cannon hinted that it will be the “toughest season yet” as a whole host of new contestants will be competing in costume.

This season's costumes include: buffalo, leaf sheep, show bird, woodpecker and ship.

“When I say that, it's because of the talent level,” Cannon explained. “Anyone could win! At this level, anyone is a great talent. Top-tier talent.”

Cannon told us that this season will also feature “more clues than ever before,” with clues hidden in all-new places.

In addition, for the first time in the show's history, the candidates will be assisted by so-called “masked ambassadors” – former celebrities who will provide even more clues as to who is hiding under which mask.

This season's singers are introduced and supported by an “ambassador” with whom they have a connection. These include Jewel (season 6), Dick Van Dyke (season 9), Ne-Yo (season 10) and DeMarcus Ware (season 11).

“I find [the clues] They're more direct because now we have our ambassadors who are connected to the singers and give them clues about where they know them from,” he teased.

“They are just there, at least for me. So this could be one of the seasons when you definitely know who is behind the masks.”

Rita Ora, Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg and Robin Thicke all return as panelists for Season 12 of “The Masked Singer,” premiering Wednesday, September 25 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
