Woman dies after being shot by murder suspect during police chase in Richardson

The passenger who was shot during a dangerous chase that ended in Dallas has died.

According to police, a woman and three children were in a stolen Cadillac driven by Donald Ingram.

It was his bullets that hit them during a chase in which he also fired wildly at the police before killing himself.

Ingram was wanted for a murder in Kaufman County. He shot and killed a Richardson police officer during a chase on September 16.

The officer returned fire on innocent motorists near the Central Expressway Service Road in Dallas.

It is unclear whether the officer knew that a woman was sitting in the passenger seat and three children – ages 5, 15 and 17 – were in the back seat.

Richardson police said no one was hit by the officer's shots, but said Ingram shot his passenger multiple times before shooting himself.

The woman was taken to Medical City Dallas in critical condition. On Wednesday, Richardson police confirmed that she died late last week.

The woman was identified as 40-year-old Sherrie Moore. Police have not released any information about her connection to the others in the car.

Ingram was wanted for the murder of 53-year-old Michelle Ingram. The couple was married but may have been going through a divorce, according to police.

A records search revealed that Donald Ingram pleaded guilty to murder in 1991 and was sentenced to ten years in prison.

Dallas police are conducting an investigation into the officer-involved shooting. No current information is available.
