Travis Kelce “can't wait to see everyone's reaction to him in 'Grotesquerie'

Travis Kelce is looking forward to fans seeing his performance in grotesque!

In the latest episode of his New heights with Jason and Travis Kelce In the podcast released on Wednesday, September 25, Travis, 34, talked about his anticipation of fans' reaction to his appearance on the Ryan Murphy-led FX series and gave a sneak peek at his role ahead of the series premiere.

“I can't wait to see everyone's reaction when I star in a mystery thriller. Pretty scary,” he said. “What the hell is going on here? Now that's going to make you think.”

“I am drawn into this [mystery-thriller] “It’s so easy to do shows,” said Jason Kelce, Travis’ brother and co-host of the podcast.

“Fasten your seatbelts, boys!” Travis warned.

Jason, 36, then asked him about his upcoming role in the series: “Are you even alive?”

“Are any of us still alive, Jason?” Travis playfully evaded before giving a mixed answer. “No. You're… It might be a little bit of that. I don't know if it might be.”

“I don’t know what to expect,” Jason said, and Travis added, “Yeah, me neither.”

His comments come after 58-year-old series creator Murphy recently praised the NFL star's performance in the horror series.

“We had a lot of fun and he is just a delightful person,” said Murphy Entertainment tonight. “He came without a script. He knew all his lines, he knew all Niecy [Nash-Betts]'s lines. And he was a little nervous at first – as I would be, I think.”

Nash-Betts, 54, shared her predictions about fans' reaction to Travis on the show with PEOPLE ahead of the series premiere, saying, “I just think fans are going to find him very charming in that role.”

Speaking to PEOPLE at the New York premiere of grotesque On Monday, September 23, Donna Kelce, Travis and Jason's mother, who was present as a representative of the Kelce family, said she was “not really” nervous about seeing him on the show.

“I've been watching these boys for years, since they were 3 years old, on the field or in sports or in band or whatever in school – in the theater,” she told PEOPLE. “You know, it's just a mother watching her kids.”

“I think that's something he's always had in the back of his mind. He's very coachable. That's a good thing he does,” she said, adding that Travis “is pretty good at almost everything he does because he has a good work ethic.”
