Four men arrested and charged with sexual harassment of minors

In September 2024, the Frederick County Inter-agency Child Exploitation and Persons Trafficking (INTERCEPT) Task Force organized a multi-agency initiative to combat the sexual solicitation of minors. The Washington County Sheriff's Office and the Montgomery County Police Department also participated in the organized action. “This joint action is part of an ongoing commitment to protect our community from child predators.” Three Maryland men, including a man from Clarksburg, were arrested and charged.

According to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office: Over several days, law enforcement officers conducted multiple operations and employed a wide range of covert and overt tactics. These tactics were used in both online and in-person encounters. The focus of the initiative was to identify and arrest adult offenders attempting to have sexual encounters with underage children.

In addition to removing the perpetrators, the authorities involved have also conducted outreach to educate parents and guardians about the signs of solicitation and the importance of open communication with children regarding online safety. Law enforcement urges anyone with information regarding solicitation or exploitation of minors to contact their local authorities.

Together we can create a safer environment for our children and hold perpetrators accountable for their actions. During this week-long initiative, the following people were identified and arrested. Arrested and charged:
