Woman sentenced after car accident in which her little daughter died

TUCSON, Arizona (13 News) – A woman has been sentenced to decades in prison in connection with a car crash in Vail that killed her young daughter last year.

On September 23, Andrea Raeann Crespin was sentenced to twelve years in prison for manslaughter, ten years for aggravated assault and four months for drunk driving.

Although she was given credit for one year of time already served, she was ordered to serve the sentences consecutively, meaning she must serve the sentences back to back.

Authorities said Crespin was drunk, driving the wrong way on Interstate 10, and that her two-year-old daughter, Lumi, was not wearing a seatbelt in the front seat at the time of the crash.

Crespin had been charged with second-degree murder, but he took a plea deal to manslaughter.
