Taylorsville man charged with drug offense

Curtis Walter Childers, 42, of Taylorsville was arrested Wednesday (September 25) by Alexander County Sheriff's officials in cooperation with the Taylorsville Police Department, Lenoir Police Department and Caldwell County Sheriff's Office.

He is charged with one count each of possession of methamphetamine and marijuana with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver, one count of maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, two counts of simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Investigators executed a search warrant for an address on Arthur Jenkins Lane in Taylorsville. During the operation, officers reportedly seized methamphetamine and marijuana.

Childers was released on $60,000 bail and is scheduled to make his first appearance in Alexander County District Court next Monday (September 30).
