Wilkes-Barre man arrested for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct


Wilkes-Barre, PA – A 27-year-old Wilkes-Barre resident was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct on East Market Street at 11:49 p.m. Tuesday night.

  • Suspicious fire with serious injury on Wade Street in Jersey City under investigation

    Jersey City, NJ - A fire at a residence on Wade Street in Jersey City is under investigation after a woman was seriously injured. Authorities are working to determine the cause and origin of the fire.

    The incident occurred early Tuesday when the Jersey City Fire Department received a report of the fire shortly after 6:30 a.m. Firefighters discovered the fire in a first-floor apartment at 81 Wade Street. A 61-year-old woman was found unconscious and with serious injuries at the scene.

    Emergency services took the injured woman to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment. Her condition remains critical but stable.

    The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force and the Jersey City Fire Department are jointly investigating the incident. The Hudson County District Attorney's Office has asked anyone with information to contact them at 201-915-1345 or submit a tip online through their website. All tips will be treated confidentially.

  • Stanley Sabatel convicted in Luzerne County drug trafficking case

    HARRISBURG, PA – A jury has found Stanley Sabatel, the primary supplier of a Luzerne County drug trafficking organization, guilty on several counts, Attorney General Michelle Henry announced Wednesday.

    The conviction followed a week-long trial in which Sabatel was found guilty of conspiracy to sell methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell and conspiracy to commit robbery. In testimony presented by the Attorney General's Office, Sabatel, 26, was identified as a major supplier to mid-level and high-level street dealers of methamphetamine.

    Following the verdict, Sabatel's bail was revoked and he was remanded in custody. Sentencing is scheduled for November 27.

    "This defendant was at the head of a methamphetamine smuggling operation that distributed poison throughout Luzerne County," said Attorney General Henry. "This verdict is a testament to law enforcement's tireless efforts to combat drug trafficking in our communities."

    The charges resulted from a joint investigation by the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office and the Pennsylvania State Police, with assistance from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Hazleton Police Department and the Town of Butler.
