Montour Falls man arrested for daytime burglary in Schuyler County

A Montour Falls resident was arrested following a broad daylight burglary at a home on Washington Street in Montour Falls on Sept. 22. Police arrived at the scene around 1:59 p.m. after receiving a report of a burglary in progress.

Authorities found 31-year-old Robert A. Stevens in the apartment after he allegedly gained entry through a window. Police evacuated the building and arrested Stevens without incident.

Stevens was charged with third-degree burglary, a felony, and petty theft, a misdemeanor. He was transported to the Schuyler County Jail where he was arraigned. The Schuyler County Sheriff's Office assisted in the arrest.
