Indiana's “Singing Janitor” wins “America's Got Talent”

LOS ANGELES (WNDU) – “America’s Got Talent” has crowned its newest winner, and he hails from the Hoosier State!

Richard Goodall, known as the “singing janitor,” was crowned champion of the NBC show’s 19th season at the end of a two-hour finale on Tuesday night.

As our sister station WTHR reports, it was the highlight of a fantastic week in Los Angeles for the janitor at West Vigo Middle School in Terre Haute.

His performance at a school talent show went viral on TikTok and landed him an audition where he delivered an emotional rendition of Journey's “Don't Stop Believin'” that earned him a Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum.

During Tuesday's show, Goodall returned to his roots and performed “Don't Stop Believin',” but this time he was accompanied by Journey guitarist Neal Schon and members of the band.
