Israeli Foreign Minister rejects ceasefire proposal and promises to continue the fight against Hezbollah

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz on Thursday rejected proposals from allies such as the United States, Britain and the European Union for a 21-day ceasefire in Lebanon.

“There will be no ceasefire in the north,” Katz posted on the social media platform X, News.Az reports.

“We will continue the fight against the terrorist organization Hezbollah with all our strength until we achieve victory and the residents of the north can safely return to their homes,” he stressed.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who left Israel on Thursday to address the United Nations, issued an order to the military to continue the fight at full force in accordance with operational plans.

In response to the ceasefire proposals, his office clarified that Netanyahu had not even mentioned the offer. Shortly after this statement, the Israeli military launched a new wave of air strikes on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon.
