Woman and man charged with running a drug factory in Norwich

NORWICH, CT (WFSB) – Two people were arrested on drug charges when police executed a search warrant in Norwich on Wednesday.

Police identified the suspects as Christine Grimes, 48, and 50-year-old Michael Michaelson.

The warrant was executed at a home on Mohegan Park Road.

Norwich police said detectives and Connecticut State Police assisted in a lengthy investigation into drug activity in the city.

They said it led to the arrest of Grimes and Michaelson and the seizure of 39 grams of crack cocaine, 156 grams of fentanyl, methadone, promethazine, a loaded 9mm handgun and a large sum of cash.

Grimes was charged with illegal possession of a firearm, four counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, and operating a drug factory.

She was scheduled to appear in Norwich Superior Court on October 3 and was held on $150,000 bail.

Michaelson was charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance and operating a drug factory.

He was also scheduled to appear in court in Norwich on October 3, but was released on $10,000 bail.
