Road closed in north Phoenix after fight led to stabbing at bus stop; one person seriously injured

PHOENIX (AZFamily) – An intersection in north Phoenix is ​​closed early Thursday morning after an altercation between two people ended in a stabbing at a bus stop.

Phoenix police responded to the incident just before 11 p.m. Wednesday near 43rd Avenue and Cactus Road. They found two people at the bus stop fighting for an unknown reason, and one person stabbed the other multiple times.

The suspect fled the scene but was later arrested, police said. The person who was stabbed was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to Phoenix police, there was no danger to the public.

The intersection of 43rd Avenue and Cactus Road will be closed for the next few hours as police investigate. This article will be updated once the road reopens.
