Two teenagers shot, one arrested near middle school in Canarsie, Brooklyn

A chaotic incident in Canarsie, Brooklyn, on Wednesday afternoon left two teenagers shot, one arrested and a school cordoned off.

The incident occurred on September 25 at just after 1:45 p.m. at the corner of Avenue J and E. 81 Street. Officers from the 69th Precinct and school security personnel arrived at the scene and found a 17-year-old boy with gunshot wounds to the lower torso and right leg.

Emergency services responded and took him to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition.

Another boy of the same age went to Kings County Hospital with private funds.

According to sources, a nearby middle school was put on lockdown as a result of the horrific shooting. The incident came a day after a 15-year-old boy was shot in the right leg near South Shore Highway School. It was the second school shooting in 24 hours.

The investigation is still ongoing.
