Melania Trump calls FBI search of Mar-a-Lago an “invasion of privacy”

WASHINGTON – Former First Lady Melania Trump said in an interview that the FBI's 2022 search of Mar-a-Lago as part of an investigation into former President Donald Trump's handling of classified documents was an “invasion of privacy.”

“It made me angry. Yes. Invasion of privacy. And the way it was done … I was really surprised,” Trump said during an interview with Fox & Friends that aired this week.

Melania Trump said she saw “unpleasant things that no one wants to see” after the search at Mar-a-Lago.

“And you get angry because, you know, nobody should put up with this. Some person, I don't even know who or how many people, you know, they went through my things,” she said.

Donald Trump has been indicted on 40 federal counts alleging that he improperly and unlawfully stored classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate after leaving the White House in 2021. The charges include willfully retaining national defense information in violation of the Espionage Act and conspiracy to obstruct justice.
