How to watch the Houston Astros and Mariners games on Tuesday: channel, stream and lineups

The Houston Astros begin Tuesday with another chance to win the American League West title for the seventh time in the last eight seasons.

To do that, the Astros need a win over their division rival Seattle Mariners, the team still fighting for the same title, and must rebound from last night's loss.

To get back on its feet, Houston will rely on experienced left-hander Framber Valdez (14-7, 2.85 ERA).

In his last start, Valdez allowed one earned run on five hits and two walks while recording six strikeouts in seven innings and suffering his seventh loss of the season.

Despite losing his last start, the veteran has been fantastic in his last seven starts.

During this time, he posted an ERA of 1.18, a WHIP of 0.79 and 52 strikeouts in 45 2/3 innings.

Valdez was even better in September, posting a 0.89 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 19 strikeouts in 20 1/3 innings in three starts.

Tuesday will be the left-hander's fourth start against the Mariners this season.

In his first three innings, he allowed a total of 10 earned runs on 18 hits and eight walks and had 13 strikeouts in 17 innings.

The workhorse has struggled recently, posting a 4.46 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 58 strikeouts in 42 1/3 innings over his last seven starts.

Tuesday will be Gilbert's third start against Houston this year.
