North State man charged with attempted murder of ex before pleading guilty

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – A Greenville County man who authorities say once tried to kill his girlfriend pleaded guilty to murder Thursday.

According to attempted murder warrants issued last year, Tyler Wilkins pointed a gun at his girlfriend Clarissa Winchester and a member of her family on December 3, 2021.

Eleven months later, the Greenville County Sheriff's Office said Wilkins kidnapped Winchester and brutalized her in a home on Saw Mill Road, causing her to die from blunt force trauma to the head and neck.

Winchester was pregnant with Wilkins' baby, a boy she planned to name Grayson. The newborn's body was also found in the Marietta home where Wilkins was taken into custody.

On Thursday, a judge sentenced Wilkins to 45 years in prison for murder, 10 years for assault and five years for pointing a firearm.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office mentioned that Wilkins is also the ex-boyfriend of Jordan Nebling, a woman who disappeared in 2020.

Officials say Wilkins was with Nebling on the day she disappeared, but no suspects have been identified in the case.
