Loranger teenager arrested for bringing a weapon onto school grounds

A 17-year-old Loranger High School student was arrested Thursday morning for bringing a gun onto the school campus.

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, the School Resource Officer (SRO) received a tip that Denim Lusk had a weapon in his vehicle. After TPSO officers joined him, LHS and two other nearby schools were placed on precautionary lockdown to investigate the situation.

When Lusk's vehicle was searched, a gun was found in the trunk and the teenager was arrested.

The curfew for schools ended at 10 a.m.
