Fargo man arrested for breaking into two stores within 30 minutes

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A Fargo man is in jail after police say he broke into two different businesses within 30 minutes.

On Friday, Sept. 20, police said they saw a suspicious-looking man dressed all in black walking through the parking lot of CVS Pharmacy on 13th Avenue. Shortly thereafter, police were dispatched to the same CVS for reports of a burglary.

They say an officer was able to locate a suspect who matched the identity of the man dressed all in black that they had seen earlier.

He was arrested and identified as 36-year-old Zachary Payne. While in custody, police said they reviewed CVS security footage and confirmed that Payne was the man who broke into the company.

After searching Payne, authorities said they found several stolen items from CVS and other items connected to another reported burglary that had occurred 30 minutes earlier in the 1300 block of University Drive.

According to Fargo police, all items were returned to their owners and Payne was taken to the Cass County Jail where he faces burglary charges.
