“Foo Fighters cancel Soundside Music Festival show after Dave Grohl’s apology”

Foo Fighters will no longer perform at Soundside Music Festival in Connecticut, where the band was scheduled to headline alongside Noah Kahan on Saturday, September 28th.

The band announced this on Instagram, writing: “Foo Fighters will no longer be performing at Soundside Music Festival this weekend. For more information, visit the festival website.”

Soundside – a new festival taking place in Bridgeport, Connecticut – was the Foo Fighters' only scheduled upcoming performance. While a specific reason for the band's cancellation has not been announced, the news comes just two weeks after frontman Dave Grohl revealed in an Instagram post that he recently became the father of a child out of wedlock.

“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and gain their forgiveness,” Grohl wrote in a September 10 post. “We are grateful for your consideration for all of the children involved. We will move forward together.”

Foo Fighters haven't played a show since September 6, when the band performed a short set in Anaheim for a private event. The band's last public performance was on August 18 at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.

Soundside Music Festival has not yet announced whether a new act will replace Foo Fighters in the lineup. In addition to Kahan, the line-up on Saturday also includes Goo Goo Dolls, Fleet Foxes and Boyz II Men. Jack White and Greta Van Fleet will headline Sunday, with other artists including Bleachers, Norah Jones and Teddy Swims.
