All about the sentimental jewelry Hoda Kotb wore to announce her exit from the “Today” show

Hoda Kotb wore three sentimental necklaces that symbolize the next phase of her life as she announced her departure from the “Today” show on Thursday.

The morning show co-host looked chic in a light blue vest and white pants as she added three of her most meaningful necklaces to share the life-changing news.

All three necklaces were made by her close friend, jeweler Jennifer Miller, and represent her role as mother to her two adopted daughters: Haley, 7, and Hope, 4.

The first necklace she added was a personalized diamond charm necklace with the letter “M” ($2,350). And although no one in her family has a name that begins with this letter, the sparkling pendant has an even more special meaning.

“'M' is for Mom,” Kotb, 60, previously told viewers on a January 2022 episode of “Today With Hoda and Jenna.”

At the time, Kotb gushed that the initial was “so me” and that it was the only thing “she would wear if not my children's initials.”

On this necklace, Kotb placed a diamond disc ($1,600) that read, “I heart you to the moon and back,” as well as a heart and a moon, both filled with diamonds.

Kotb previously shared that she also gifted the same necklace to her daughters and mother Sameha Kotb for Christmas 2023.

“I gave my mom and girls one of my favorite little necklaces [with] what I write on her notes every morning, which is 'I love you to the moon and back,'” she said on a January 2024 episode of the show.

Finally, Kotb added her signature Jennifer Miller style named after her — an engravable heart necklace ($1,015) called the “Hoda Heart Necklace.”

The necklace can be purchased plain or has a custom engraving with Hoda choosing the words “I love you, Mom.”

“Designed by Jennifer Miller and made famous by Hoda Kotb, this timeless classic with a modern twist is the perfect gift for any mother in your life. Pair it with delicate or fashion necklaces and pair it with your favorite hoop earrings, stud earrings or statement earrings. Show her that she means a lot to you with this stunning piece that will stay in her heart forever, even if you can't be together!” the description reads.

Kotb only wore three necklaces for her big announcement, but she has modeled many other meaningful and personalized Jennifer Miller jewelry pieces over the years — including a chain necklace with Haley and Hope's names ($1,325) and a diamond-rimmed gold bar necklace ($930) engraved with the girls' initials and a heart.

The “Hope Is a Rainbow” author's necklaces represent Kotb's next chapter in life, as she announced Thursday that she is leaving NBC after 26 years to focus on raising her daughters.

“I saw it all so clearly: my broadcasting career was beyond meaningful, a new decade of my life lies ahead of me, and now my daughters and my mother need and deserve a larger slice of my time,” she wrote in a letter to Today. team before publicly announcing her exit on Thursday.

“I will miss you all dearly, but I am ready and excited.”

Just months before Kotb shared the news, she bought a home in Bronxville, NY, a suburb outside the Big Apple.

Kotb recently gushed about how “normal” it felt when she was able to take a day off earlier this month and accompany her kids to the first day of school.
