Larose man arrested in drug trafficking investigation – Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced that drug agents have made arrests as part of a drug trafficking investigation. Jaron Rousse, 23, of Larose was arrested Wednesday.

The drug investigators had launched an investigation against Rousse on suspicion of drug trafficking. Through investigation, they received information that a shipment of marijuana was expected in the southern area of ​​Lafourche Parish.

On September 25, 2024, agents located the truck involved in the delivery and observed Rousse attempting to retrieve the shipment from the truck. At that time, agents moved forward and arrested Russe. Officers seized that shipment, which contained approximately 120 pounds of marijuana. They also obtained a search warrant for Rousse's apartment. There they found additional evidence, including drug paraphernalia and approximately $34,000 in cash.

Rousse was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux. He was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, transactions with proceeds of controlled dangerous substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held without bail and is also being held on probation and parole in Louisiana for a probation violation.
