Foo Fighters cancel performance at Soundside Music Festival after Dave Grohl confesses to having a baby

Foo Fighters announced Thursday that they will not perform at the upcoming two-day Soundside Music Festival in Connecticut.

The band shared the news on social media and encouraged fans to visit the festival's website for more information.

“Foo Fighters will no longer be performing at Soundside Music Festival this weekend,” the post reads.

The post did not provide a reason for the cancellation.

The event is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, with the Foo Fighters originally scheduled to headline Sunday's event at Seaside Park in Bridgeport.

Due to the cancellation, organizers said Jack White and Greta Van Fleet will now perform.

“We are excited to welcome both @officialjackwhite and @gretavanfleet to the lineup this Sunday, September 29th,” Southside Music Festival said on social media. “Unfortunately, @foofighters have announced that they will no longer be performing this weekend.”

The line-up change comes after Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl said on social media earlier this month that he had a confession to make. He announced that he welcomed a baby into the world – with a woman who is not his wife.

“I recently became a father to a new daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl wrote in a post shared on Instagram. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and children and am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We are grateful to all the children involved for their consideration. “We are moving forward together.”

Grohl did not announce when the baby was born. He also didn't give her name or mention anything about the child's mother.

Grohl, 55, married Jordyn Blum, 48, in 2003. The couple has three daughters, including Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10.

He was previously married to Jennifer Leigh Youngblood, but the two divorced in 1997. Grohl reportedly later admitted that he had been unfaithful to her.

Grohl rose to fame in the early 1990s as the drummer for the grunge rock band Nirvana. The band, led by Kurt Cobain, broke up after Cobain's suicide in 1994.

Grohl then founded the Foo Fighters. The band is currently touring in support of their latest album, But Here We Are, released in 2023.
