Fond du Lac has received a grant to help reduce substance use in its community.

The funding is part of the Drug-Free Communities Program grants and is specifically aimed at individuals ages 12 to 18.

The City of Fond du Lac will focus on collaboration, sustainability and data-driven strategies to achieve long-term impact.

The grant was awarded to Fond du Lac through the CDC's Drug-Free Communities Support Program, which is the nation's leading initiative to mobilize communities to eliminate youth drug use.

This program presents over 700 awards each year to coalitions such as the Fond du Lac Drug-Free Communities Coalition.

Aaron Goldstein, Fond du Lac Police Chief and coalition member, shared that the vision of the coalition is “Healthier children today, healthier communities tomorrow.”
