Publix stores close due to Hurricane Helene

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – As Hurricane Helene approaches Florida, Publix stores in several Tampa Bay Area counties will close Wednesday evening and remain closed through Thursday as the storm moves through, the Lakeland-based grocery chain announced.

More than two dozen Publix grocery stores are scheduled to close at 10 p.m. Wednesday and remain closed throughout Thursday, with some exceptions.

“Please note that hours of operation may be adjusted and the status of individual stores may change depending on the path of Hurricane Helene and projected impacts,” officials said in a news release.
