Motorcyclist in critical condition after accident in Southwest Valley

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Police say one person is in critical condition after a vehicle collision.

LVMPD responded to an accident at approximately 1:13 p.m. on Sept. 26 on South Durango Drive, south of West Warm Springs Road.

According to police, a green Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling south on South Durango Drive at a high rate of speed.

A 2015 Infiniti QX70 was traveling north on South Durango south of West Warm Springs Road.

Police said the driver of the Infiniti was attempting to turn left into a private area when the front of the motorcycle struck the vehicle on the right side.

The Infiniti was overturned and the driver was thrown onto the road.

Officials reported the driver was taken to the trauma center at University Medical Center.

Medical experts determined the driver was in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was not injured, according to police.

LVMPD is investigating the crash.
