Lady Gaga defaces the Mona Lisa and stalks the Louvre in new 'The Joker' tease

The song can be heard on Oscar-winning Harlequin's upcoming companion album Joker: Folie À Deux.

Lady Gaga appears in a teaser clip for her new song “The Joker”

Lady Gaga unleashes her rock 'n' roll side in a new song inspired by her upcoming film. Joker: Folie À Deux.

On Wednesday, September 25, the 38-year-old shared a teaser clip for “The Joker” – a track that's worth listening to harlequintheir upcoming companion album to the Todd Phillips-directed film.

Filmed at the Louvre Museum in Paris, the pop superstar sings: “There's always a joker in the pack, there's always a lone clown” as she begins to explore the famous art museum while wearing a short red wig and a patterned blue one Wearing dress, polka dot tights and Converse sneakers.

As she continues to walk past works of art, including the sculpture “The Winged Victory of Samothrace,” Gaga sings, “The poor laughing fool falls on his back and everyone laughs when he's on the ground. The actress then comes across the museum's iconic Mona Lisa painting and waves to the Leonardo Da Vinci piece before using lipstick to paint the Joker's signature red smile on the protective glass display case.

The moment is reminiscent of a scene from the film's first teaser trailer, in which Gaga's Harley Quinn paints a red lipstick smile on a glass partition while visiting Joaquin Phoenix's Joker in prison.

In the clip for “The Joker,” Gaga smiles and dances away from the painting while repeatedly singing “The Joker is me” while wearing makeup reminiscent of her character.

Then the words “Time for a Folie À Deux” flash on the screen before a note appears about when the film will be in theaters, along with a new exhibition coming to the Louvre in October. Figures of the fool. The clip ends with a soundbite of Phoenix, 49, laughing in his role as Joker.

Harlequin is scheduled to be released on September 27th Joker: Folie À Deux hits theaters in October.

“I loved working with Joaquin, I loved working with Todd,” Gaga continued. “I’ve never done anything like this film before, so it will all be completely new and really fun.”

Joker: Folie à Deux hits theaters on October 4th.
