The Midnight Murder Club open beta is now available on Steam

Velan Studios has announced that the Midnight Murder Club open beta is now available on PC via Steam, so you can try it out right away.

The developer is the team behind Knockout City, which we really liked here, but unfortunately had to close at some point. The new game is described as follows: “The unique pitch-black gameplay has players slowly creeping through the inky darkness of an old Victorian mansion, armed only with a flashlight and a revolver, trying to complete their mission and survive.” As they Navigating the dark hallways, they must keep an eye out for other club members who may be hiding in the shadows, more than willing to kill to be the last ones standing.”

Check out a trailer below:

Heart-pounding and hilarious multiplayer FPS fun. Trust your senses and overcome your fears while armed with a flashlight and a revolver, then face off against your friends in a pitch-black mansion where there are surprises around every corner.

Welcome to the Midnight Murder Club, an elite group that asks you to trust your senses and instincts while armed (at least at first) with nothing but a flashlight and a revolver in a pitch-black mansion. Choose a mask to hide your identity as you and your friends take part in a gunfight in the dark, where decisions are key in a game of perception, deception and shooting skills.

The beta will include two of the four modes that will be available in the final game, as follows:

  • Free for everyone – The club members navigate the villa alone and aim to be the deadliest at the end of the round.
  • Headhunter – Two players take on the role of a hunter to track down the remaining four players and prevent them from finding and burning four hidden effigies.

When we spoke to Velan Studios in 2021, Karthik Bala said: “We founded Vicarious Visions in 1991,” explains Bala, “when we were in high school, and we ran it for 25 years, and on the 25th anniversary we have it “So we started Velan Studios at the end of 2016, and now it's been five years, which is amazing… time flies. Our whole goal and mission was to create new types of experiences, or what we believe could be breakthrough experiences that feel like magic. The feel and how a game feels; That’s what the studio is about.”

Midnight Murder Club is said to be in the “4th. Quarter 2024” will appear on Steam for the PC. You can download and play the open beta now.
