There will be dense fog in Oregon until midday Thursday

At 2:43 a.m. Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a dense fog warning until 11 a.m. for the Lower Columbia River, Tualatin Valley, West Hills and Chehalem Mountains, Inner Portland Metro, East Portland Metro, Outer Southeast Portland Metro and West Central out Willamette Valley, East Central Willamette Valley, Benton County Lowlands, Linn County Lowlands and Lane County Lowlands.

“Visibility less than a quarter mile in dense fog,” the weather service states. “Wet conditions and cool overnight temperatures will produce patchy, dense fog across the Willamette Valley and could be present during the morning commute. The fog should clear by mid to late morning.”

“Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous,” the weather service says. “When driving, slow down, use your headlights and leave enough distance in front of you. Pedestrians and cyclists should wear bright or reflective clothing to increase the likelihood of being seen by others in poor visibility conditions.”
