Victim flown out after crash near Monticello on Interstate 94

MONTICELLO, Minn. – One person was seriously injured in an accident early Friday morning on the Northwest subway.

According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the accident occurred just before 6 a.m. on westbound Interstate 94 near Monticello.

Officials say the victim was “flown by helicopter to a nearby hospital.” Her condition has not been disclosed.

The crash closed both westbound lanes for about an hour, MnDOT said. One lane reopened at 7 a.m. while the other was heavily congested during rush hour.

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating.
