Circa CEO offers UNLV QB Matt Sluka payment on rumored NIL deal

According to a report from Brett McMurphy, Circa Sports CEO Derek Stevens has offered to pay UNLV quarterback Matt Sluka $100,000 in an NIL deal to resolve Sluka's dispute with the school Action Network.

Mike Palm, the vice president of operations for Circa Sports, reached out to UNLV this week to offer to pay Sluka a NIL deal on behalf of CEO Derek Stevens, but UNLV officials told Palm that Sluka was no longer was part of the program and that there was no intention of doing business with him again.

Sluka announced his intention to leave and transfer to UNLV earlier this week because “certain assurances have not been confirmed.” It was later revealed that Sluka's issue was related to an alleged deal with the program over NIL payments that UNLV failed to make.

UNLV's NIL collective denied having reached a deal with Sluka that included paying the starting quarterback.

Sluka transferred to UNLV from Holy Cross in the offseason. He started the first three games of the season for the Rebels and was a key part of the team's dynamic offense that enabled the Rebels to start the season 3-0 for the first time in 40 years.

The Rebels, an early contender for the Group of Five College Football Playoff, host Fresno State on Saturday.
