Extra patrols were conducted at Union-Endicott High School on the day following a violent incident nearby

ENDICOTT (WBNG) – Authorities continue to investigate an act of violence that occurred Thursday afternoon just outside Union-Endicott High School.

The Endicott Police Department and Broome County Sheriff's Office will be conducting additional patrols outside the school out of an abundance of caution. The measure was requested by the school district.

On Thursday afternoon, law enforcement responded to a report of a stabbing by the Gulf gas station and the American Legion in front of the high school. Two minors were injured in the ordeal and were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Friday, Endicott police said they were investigating the incident as a stabbing, although they did not know what weapon or object injured the minors.

According to police, one minor suffered a hand injury and the other minor suffered injuries to his lip and shoulder.

One of the victims went to the main entrance of the high school to get help, police said.

As of Friday afternoon, police have not made any arrests as part of the investigation.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Endicott police at 607-785-3341.
