Devin Haney is suing Ryan Garcia for assault and fraud in the April fight

Devin HaneyIt's obviously still not over by the looks of his superfight Ryan Garcia went under earlier this year…as TMZ Sports has confirmed that he is now suing the star boxer over all of this.

The 25-year-old pugilist filed a lawsuit in New York on Friday against his nemesis … alleging that Garcia committed assault and fraud leading up to and during their big performance on April 20 at the Barclays Center.

You'll remember that Garcia won the fight after knocking Haney down multiple times… but the result came later decided a non-competition after officials said Garcia had Ostarine in his system.


Haney said that if he had known Garcia had taken the performance-enhancing drug before entering the ring, he would not have agreed to the fight. That's why he says he never agreed that Garcia was on the wrong side.

He also said, among other things, that by taking the banned substance despite his agreement to fight clean, Garcia made false statements that led to Haney also pulling out of the fight.

In addition to Garcia, Haney is also suing Golden Boy Promotions for breach of contract.

In his lawsuit, Haney is seeking damages, claiming the entire ordeal caused him “physical harm, millions of dollars in reputational damage, and emotional and psychological distress.”

We reached out to Garcia's attorney for comment but have not yet received a response.
