Motorcyclist killed in crash in St. Tammany Parish

According to state police, the accident killed 63-year-old Richard Nash of Bush.

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. – A man is dead after a two-vehicle crash Friday in St. Tammany Parish.

According to Louisiana State Police, 63-year-old Richard Nash of Bush was riding a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on LA Highway 41 around 4 p.m. when he collided with the driver of the Chevrolet, who was turning left turned and drove straight into his vehicle.

Nash was wearing a DOT-approved helmet. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the Chevrolet was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

“Impairment is not suspected to be a cause of the crash, but routine toxicology samples were collected for analysis as part of the ongoing investigation,” police said.
