Redding police arrest three people connected to a suspected drug house on Shasta View Drive

The Redding Police Department (RPD) made multiple arrests Friday in connection with a local drug house on Shasta View Drive.

RPD said the Neighborhood Police Unit (NPU) began investigating the suspected drug house in the 2900 block of Shasta View Drive after receiving multiple complaints from residents about constant traffic to and from the house, raising suspicions of illegal activity let.

The primary occupant of the residence was identified as 40-year-old Kyle Dumas of Redding. On Friday, September 27, police said they had executed a search warrant for the problematic property. When officers arrived, RPD said Dumas was seen leaving the property in a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Ryan Scouter of Redding.

A search of the vehicle led to Scouter's arrest after RPD said a collapsible baton and methamphetamine were discovered in the vehicle.

While searching the Shasta View residence, officers located a third suspect, 37-year-old Joshua Jenson of Redding. Jenson was found to have multiple outstanding warrants and was taken into custody, according to RPD.

A large amount of drug paraphernalia, various types of ammunition, a baton and stolen merchandise from a local retail store were found inside the residence. Police mentioned that suspicions that the property was a drug house were confirmed when the house was found in disarray, filled with drugs, garbage, miscellaneous items and exposed wiring.

According to police, all three suspects were arrested. Dumas was arrested for running a drug house, being addicted to ammunition and possessing a baton. Scouter was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a baton and possession of stolen property. Eventually, Jenson was arrested on his outstanding warrants.

“NPU’s efforts continue to ensure the safety and well-being of the community by addressing issues related to drug use and other criminal behavior,” RPD said.
