The duo stars in Netflix's romantic comedy series. Nobody wants thatwhich appeared on the streaming platform at the end of September 2024. Together with Bell, sisters Erin Foster And Sara Foster serve as executive producers.

In the show, Bell plays Joanne, a podcast producer and host who has a history of picking the wrong people. For his part, Brody plays Noah, a handsome rabbi she meets at a mutual friend's dinner party.

When speaking with TV line Ahead of the season one premiere, Brody – who has worked with Bell on multiple occasions – spoke about the undeniable on-screen chemistry between the two.

“I knew we had great chemistry. I knew how talented and funny she was,” Brody told the outlet. “But it wasn't until I saw the first episode shortly after that I saw the chemistry and said, 'Oh, okay, this is real.'”

Erin, whose life the series is loosely based on, added: “The chemistry between them is just unreal. It's crazy because they're friends in real life. Off-camera chemistry isn't there. There's like no sexual tension on set, and then the camera goes off and it's like, 'Holy shit!' It's really there.”

Previously worked together

Co-star there Nobody wants that isn't the first time Bell and Brody have shared the screen together. The pair have worked together before House of lies, Scream 4, CHiPs And Some girls.

“You arrive on set incredibly familiar with someone within a few hours; “If I sit here with you for three more hours, we’ll know each other pretty well and be comfortable,” Brody said in a September 2024 interview with the newspaper Los Angeles Times. “It's nothing you can't acquire, but I do think we've worked together before, knowing we get along, knowing we work well together – you know there's a high floor when that's the one is the correct expression. Bell talked about the importance of eye contact when filming a romantic comedy Nobody wants that in two separate interviews in September 2024.

“Adam can stare longingly into someone’s eyes for an extended period of time, and so can I,” Bell said Harper's Bazaar. “And not to burst everyone’s bubble, but [the onscreen connection comes from] the mathematics of it, the anticipation of it. If someone can hold it with you and you know they can stay in that eye contact zone, you’re going to break a lens.”

She told that L.A. Times: “Because it's a romantic comedy, and especially this one that so often relies on eye contact and no dialogue, I know he has a mode where he can just stare deeply into someone's eyes for an awkward amount of time . I have this mode too. It's just a trick in the magician's pocket. In my opinion, some actors can do it and some can't. I thought, “Well, I know I can do it.” I know Adam can do it. We can fill the entire room.'”
