Boy, 17, arrested for first-degree murder in South Side shooting: police

CHICAGO – A 17-year-old boy was arrested on first-degree murder charges following a fatal July shooting on the city's south side.

According to Chicago police, the teenager was arrested Thursday in the 700 block of E. 132nd Street after being identified as the suspect in the July 10 shooting death of a 15-year-old boy.

The shooting occurred in the 300 block of E. 71st Street in the Park Manor neighborhood.

No further details about the victim were released.

The teenager is due back in court on September 28 for a detention hearing.
