Straight bets

Renato Moicano (+220)

The main event is a real fight, and I love Saint Denis, but he is overrated in this matchup.

“BSD” is a violent force that hits the feet and fires 100 takedowns per minute. It's an effective style, but Moicano is ready to capitalize on it. Moicano is an excellent gripper in his own right and a striker good enough to thrive against the many options Saint Denis leaves open. But the most important thing is cardio training. It's a five-round fight, and Saint Denis' style doesn't lend itself to drawn-out brawls. If he can't end Moicano early, “Money” will take things down a notch.

Brendan Allen (+184)

In the co-main event (which should probably be the main event given the ranking of the fighters involved), Brendan Allen takes on Nassourdine Imavov in a top-10 middleweight bout. And like the main event, the value is on the underdog.

Allen is on a seven-fight winning streak and has really proven himself as a fighter. He is an extremely dangerous grabber and an improving striker. Imavov also seems to be on the rise, but I think he's getting a little flack from the oddsmakers here for his win over Jared Cannonier, who is clearly past his prime. Allen can remain competitive on his feet and has a clear advantage on the floor. I want Allen to win this fight outright.

Nora Cornolle (+176)

Cornolle faces Jacqueline Cavalcanti in a women's bantamweight preliminary bout that is actually a rematch and I like her changes to get the win.

Cavalcanti has never impressed me, partly due to her complete disinterest in finishing fights. She's a good kickboxer, but she has a lot of volume and is very safe. That's not Cornolle's problem at all. Cornole is a tank woman.

Prop bets

Joanderson Brito by KO/TKO or submission (+105)b

Brito faces William Gomis in the main event of the evening and I believe this will be the Chute Boxe fighter's big break.

Brito is a nightmare of a fighter to deal with, having beaten Diego Lopes time and time again Contender Series. SSince failing in his UFC debut against Bill Algeo, the Brazilian has been hell on wheels for everyone he has fought. Five fights in a row, five finishes against increasingly strong opponents puts Brito on the threshold of the world featherweight ranking, and considering how dangerous he is at all stages, I like his chances against the more reserved Gomis. And if Brito wins, he'll win big, as he's only taken a decision three times in his 21-fight career, so I'd like to see him achieve a goal too.
