Grading Knicks-Timberwolves Trade That Swaps Karl-Anthony Towns, Julius Randle | News, results, highlights, statistics and rumors

After losing Isaiah Hartenstein to free agency and Mitchell Robinson (at least early in the season) to injury, the Knicks were in desperate need of a center. It would also be nice to release a forward rotation that includes Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby.

On Friday, New York checked both boxes and added an All-Star in the process.

Towns appears to be a near-perfect No. 2 option alongside Jalen Brunson. The petite guard is particularly good at getting through tight spaces and into the net, and Towns' shots will make that even easier for him.

The self-proclaimed best shooter of all time is truly a dynamic weapon from beyond the bow. Since the start of the 2017-18 season, he has hit 40.4 percent of his threes while attempting 5.1 per game. The opposing centers are forced to follow him to the edge, otherwise he will score points from outside. Of course, this leaves the paint open for Brunson, Bridges, Anunoby and Josh Hart to attack.
