Vince McMahon denies Chris Benoit murder allegations – TJR Wrestling

Vince McMahon has dismissed many of the major theories surrounding former WWE star Chris Benoit's horrific murders.

The murder of Nancy and Daniel Benoit, followed by the suicide of Chris Benoit, shocked the world of wrestling. Like rarely in its history, WWE came under scrutiny as the media tried to make sense of the seemingly senseless deaths.

Steroid abuse and concussion issues quickly came to the fore as possible reasons for Chris Benoit's twisted behavior, but almost two decades after the events, Vince McMahon still seems unconvinced that they played their part.

In his Netflix documentary “Mr. McMahon,” McMahon spoke about the end of Benoit’s life and dismissed any notion that his steroid use was related:

There is no connection between taking steroids and what happened to Chris Benoit, humans are flawed. Chris went crazy, it happens in every form of life, that's the only thing I can take from it.

Vince McMahon claims Chris Benoit's move was a complete work

Former WWE star Christopher Nowinski then explained how Benoit's brain was examined by doctors after his death and suggested that CTE played a role. Suffice it to say, this explanation didn't go down well with Vince McMahon:

This doctor came out with this ridiculous statement: “Okay, here's why Chris Benoit did this.” There was some kind of trauma to his head and things were shown where Chris jumped off the rope and hit someone's head . This is a complete work. It looks like there is damage, but there is not. We know what we're doing, we don't hurt each other.

Christopher Nowinski explained how examining Benoit's brain under the microscope clearly showed the effects of CTE, a disease he said can cause problems with emotions, behavior, disinhibition, aggression and depression.
