Arkansas man convicted of murder after shooting and killing his victim

OSCEOLA, Ark. (WMC) – An Arkansas man has been convicted of murder after being accused of shooting and killing a victim.

Prosecutor Sonia Hagood of the Second Judicial Circuit today announced the murder conviction of Reggie Matthews in the tragic death of Tiana Robinson.

Following a jury trial held September 24-26, 2024 with the Honorable Daniel Ritchey presiding, the jury found Matthews guilty of capital murder.

Judge Ritchey then sentenced Matthews to life in prison without the possibility of parole, the maximum sentence allowed under Arkansas law other than the death penalty.

On the night of September 6, 2023, at approximately 9:20 p.m., Osceola Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of West Broadway. When they arrived, they found 36-year-old Tiana Robinson unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Despite extensive rescue efforts, Robinson was tragically pronounced dead shortly before 10pm

Reggie Matthews was arrested and initially charged with first-degree murder.
