A leaking rail car triggered a hazardous materials response from local fire districts, law enforcement, the Oregon Department of Transportation, the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and the railroad company.







First responders from numerous authorities were on site.




The incident occurred just after 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, on the railroad tracks bordering Highway 30 north of Scappoose.

As a safety precaution, a Scappoose Fire District device is being used to close off a portion of Highway 30 at the leak site.
