The mod you didn't know you needed

Just when you thought Cyberpunk 2077 couldn't get any more, well, cyberpunk, along comes a mod that turns the sci-fi meter up to 11.

Say hello to the Superhot mod, courtesy of Nexus Mods user jackexe, which transforms your Night City experience into an indie gem-style slow-motion playground where time only moves when you do.

Yes, that's right, you're about to turn every fight into a scene straight from the Matrix. Picture this: you're walking the neon-lit streets of Night City, probably debating whether to pursue romance with Judy or throw all your hair into more chrome.

Suddenly time freezes. No, it's not another mistake – this time it's intentional. With the Cyberpunk Superhot Mode mod you now control the flow of time. Sprint and the world speeds past you like you're Sonic on Red Bull. Stand still and it's like you've turned on VAT in Fallout, but with less math and more cybernetic style.

“How fast you move determines how quickly time passes,” says the mod’s description. Translation: If you're like me, you turn this feature on mid-fight to watch the perfect slow-motion headshots.

If Superhot has taught us anything, it's that even the most mundane actions we perform as the time manipulation king feel like they deserve an achievement unlock.

Let's be honest. This isn't cyberpunk's first dance with time-manipulating technology. Fans of the game will likely have flashbacks to the Sandevistan cyberware, which allows you to slow down time in battle.

But let's be honest, this mod takes the concept and gives it the full Edgerunners treatment, allowing you to express your inner David Martinez without the whole “becoming a tragic anti-hero” part.

And what better time to release this mod than the one-year anniversary of the Phantom Liberty expansion? While the DLC gave us Idris Elba and lots of spy drama, this mod gives us pure chaos.

So if you've already completed all of Night City's quests, flirted with all of the love options, and debated the philosophical implications of Keanu Reeves in your head, why not spice things up?

But now, in the words of V, it's time to get to work. Or in this case, try a new mod… for work… shhh…
