Security guard shoots himself at a Lutheran football game in Wisconsin

An off-duty security guard accidentally shot himself at a Wisconsin Lutheran High School football game Friday night, sending players and fans running for the exits, the school said in a statement.

The security guard, who is not affiliated with the school, received medical treatment and his injuries were not life-threatening, according to school officials.

Milwaukee police did not immediately respond to a request for comment late Friday evening. The incident occurred at Zeitler Stadium, which is south of the school near North 84th Street and West Bluemound Road.

The end of the game between Wisconsin Lutheran and Milwaukee Lutheran was canceled due to the incident. Wisconsin Luthern led 42-0 at that point.
