Two are injured in an accident involving six vehicles

Two people were seriously injured in the accident and were taken to Firelands Hospital.

ERIE COUNTY, OHIO, Ohio – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a six-vehicle crash that left two people seriously injured. According to authorities, it happened Friday evening in Perkins Township, near the intersection of Perkins and Hayes avenues.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the driver of a Cadillac was traveling west on Perkins Avenue when he struck a Toyota. The driver of the Cadillac then moved left of the center lane and crashed into a Ford Focus, which hit two other vehicles as a result of the impact.

After hitting the Ford Focus, the Cadillac transformed into an SUV, according to authorities.

OSHP said the drivers of the Cadillac and Ford Focus were injured in the crash and were taken to Firelands Hospital.

OSHP said the crash is under investigation and alcohol is believed to be a factor.
