Two teenagers arrested in armed robbery investigation in Milford | Latest news

MILFORD, DE – Two teenagers were arrested on firearms and conspiracy charges after an alleged armed robbery on Wednesday.

The Milford Police Department (MPD) responded to reports of armed robbery in the 800 block of Southeast 4th Street on September 25 at approximately 3:50 p.m.

Officers found the 15-year-old and 17-year-old male suspects in a nearby backyard before arresting them with the help of Dover police and obtaining search warrants.

According to police, there were two 9mm handguns in one of the suspects' backpacks, which were identified as “ghost guns,” or untraceable, home-assembled firearms.

Investigators searched the property where the teens were staying and found a third 9mm “ghost” handgun and a Mac 10 9mm submachine gun in a suspect's bedroom. According to police, a single-shot Type 410 rifle was also seized from the property, bringing the total number of firearms to five.

Both teens were booked into the Delaware Division of Youth Rehabilitative Services' Stevenson House Detention Center and issued a no-contact order with each other and the robbery victim. Each will appear in Sussex County Family Court at a later date.

The 17-year-old suspect was arrested in default of $175,000 bail on the following charges:

  • First degree robbery
  • Second degree conspiracy
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime (x2)
  • Possession, purchase, possession or control of a deadly weapon by a person under 18 years of age (x2)
  • Possession, purchase, possession or control of ammunition by a person under 18 years of age
  • Carrying a concealed deadly weapon (x2)
  • Possession of an untraceable firearm (x2)

The 15-year-old suspect was booked on the same charge and ordered to pay a $68,000 cash bond.
