An Ocala man is charged with manslaughter while under the influence of alcohol in a crash that killed one and injured others, according to the FHP

MARION COUNTY, Fla — An Ocala man faces involuntary manslaughter while under the influence of alcohol and other charges for his involvement in a crash that killed a Clermont woman and injured three others, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 7:40 p.m. Friday on northbound US 441 near the SE 92nd Loop in Marion County, troopers said.

According to an FHP accident report, a 54-year-old Ocala man was driving a pickup truck that rear-ended an SUV with four occupants. Of those four, the 53-year-old Ocala man who was driving the SUV suffered minor injuries, while two of his passengers – a 60-year-old woman from Ocala and a 76-year-old man from Clermont – suffered serious injuries in the crash, according to the police said.

The SUV's third passenger, a 72-year-old woman from Clermont, suffered fatal injuries, the report said.

The Ocala man behind the wheel of the pickup suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to the Marion County Jail, according to the FHP.
