A man is killed in an accident in the city center

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a fatal accident that occurred Friday evening in Central City. According to police, the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of S. Claiborne and Martin Luther King Boulevard when an unknown man apparently crossed into oncoming traffic. When emergency services arrived at the scene, the victim was pronounced dead. The NOPD says it has no information about the car involved at this time and is still trying to determine how and why the incident occurred. This is an ongoing investigation.
