Despite a large presence, police have “no record” of an incident in the city center

Police say they have no record of an incident in Oxford, despite eyewitnesses suggesting otherwise.

Onlookers saw a police car arrive at the Old Fire Station in George Street at around 2.30pm yesterday (Friday September 27).

Five police officers could be seen standing next to the patrol car as the public looked on.

Despite the photo and details of the incident, Thames Valley Police were unable to provide any further information about the incident or even locate the incident in their internal logs.

A spokesman for the force said this Oxford Mail on Saturday: “I've taken a look at our logs regarding the information you provided, but I'm afraid I can't find anything.”
